DDA Building Services Consulting Engineers were employed to undertake the complete MEP design for the new build sports and leisure centre.

The new leisure centre, replacing the existing 1970’s leisure centre was designed and built to high standards and a high specification to ensure it did not lose its sparkle after a few years of use.

The new leisure centre offers services not previously available in the area including a learner pool with a hydraulic floor allowing the pool to be used for a number of purposes such as swimming lessons, hydrotherapy sessions and including groups with disabilities and accessibility requirements.

The main pool hall comprising a six lane 25m pool has a large seating area which allows for galas. The state of the art, 100 station fitness suite is supplemented by two multipurpose studios and a spin studio that can be operated by a virtual instructor.

Both pool halls have separate environmental controls allowing the water and air temperatures of each space to be individually controlled to perfectly suit different requirements.

The affordable spa offers luxury facilities with a sauna, aroma steam room, jacuzzi, monsoon shower, heated tile benching and three modern treatment rooms.

The centre also boasts a ‘Clip ‘n Climb’ suite with fifteen different grades of climbing challenges featuring contrasting shapes, textures and difficulty levels, providing an original way to have fun and keep fit. Bespoke lighting emphasises the facility’s unique look.
