DDA Building Services Consulting Engineers were proud to be chosen to carry out the first of the new format TradePoint for B&Q, employed to undertake the complete M&E design direct for the client.

Initially employed by B&Q through the Feasibility and Scheme Development stages, DDA worked closely with the principal contractor for on site activities.

TradePoint’s philosophy is “here to help the Trade get the job done without the hassle”. They currently operate out of over 300 B&Q stores throughout the country with plans to extend the TradePoint offering further. Shopping at TradePoint provides everything under one roof, with stock items of over 12,000 trade quality products and 40,000 items on the B&Q shop floor.

DDA worked in close collaboration with the B&Q Engineering team to deliver a fully operational, energy efficient TradePoint. DDA’s experienced team brought innovative design solutions and problem solving to the new store concept for rollout against the TradePoint offering.

The entire store both internal and external is illuminated using LED luminaires giving both a considerable reduction in the store’s energy load, and a new concept feel for TradePoint.
